Our Goodwill Ambassador - Ushoshi Sengupta

True to her name, Ushoshi (meaning the first ray of sunshine) has made it her life's mission to spread joy and light in this world. Miss Universe India 2010 an entrepreneur and philanthropist, Ushoshi has used her power and position to advocate causes closest to her heart namely women's empowerment, education of the girl child , mental health and human trafficking.

She is the Founder of Ushoshi Sengupta Productions whose annual fashion and music extravaganza Playfest was also used as a platform to promote a different social cause each year, tying together glamour and philanthropy which are two realms Usho (as she is known lovingly) holds very close to her heart.

Ushoshi has been bestowed with various honours over the years which include the g a Better World for All" in 2017 for being a woman leader in various projects. Her most recent awards, in 2019, are the Manyata AwarBharat Nirman Award in 2017 as Director of Tapashi Educational Services TESA, for uplifting the education sector and emphasizing the power of an educated youth. She has also been recognised as the "Iconic Woman Creating a Better World for All" in 2017 for being a woman leader in various projects and the Times Style Icon Award.

A diligent and passionate worker, Usho is committed to asking the right questions, taking a stand on important causes and putting in all the efforts required to bring about significant changes in society.

Before pursuing a career in the media and entertainment industry, Ushoshi had earned her Bachelors Degree in Humanities from St. Xavier's College, Calcutta and also holds a Diploma in Aviation Hospitality and Travel. However, ask her about where she has learned the most, she's most likely to tell you that it's from her mother and from the challenges life has thrown at her as she stepped out to pursue her dreams.
